ONCE A DREAM – UPCOMING SINGLE
I'm happy to announce the second offering from my upcoming EP. It's called "Once a Dream", out on 17th July.It is a very hectic one, it feels like I am almost beating myself up with some of the lines here. There's a lot of questioning: questioning of self, of decisions, of the history, of future. And there's also yearning. Well, there's always yearning...The entire song feels like a dream sequence to me, there's a continous storyline but it is a story that is told through jumping perspectives, time shifts, and locations. I am very excited for this one. Pre-save below!
Valentine Journals vol. 4
I've been quietly putting together a little side project – a magazine series that offers a more personal look into the songs and what was going on in my mind while creating them. Think of it as a mix of behind-the-scenes moments, thoughts, and small creative bits. The first volume is centered around Valentine, the first single from the upcoming project. Inside, you’ll find stories about the music video, early drafts of the song, personal reflections, and a few fun surprises I wanted to share. It’s a way to open the door a bit wider into the world behind the music and I am so excited to share it with you xx
Valentine – Music video
I loved every part of making this. The video, the song, the lyrics, the aesthetics. This felt like the appropriate first single as it directly cuts to what I wanted to say, and that is the entire thesis statement for this EP. Cutting the shit out, getting real, and facing myself. In a way, the apologia of "The Night Out" and the pain of "Visceral Romanticization" is echoed throughout the EP with an urgent need to address what is wrong on my behalf: why I don't allow myself to receive pure, sweet love; why does it always have to be painful etc...The music video was shot by my lovely friend, Kader Aouribi, who was also my roommate at the time in Romania when I was doing a student exchange. We shot the video in the dorm, trying to capture the existential void that you find yourself in after a breakup. I am proud of this one a lot. It is not the first music video I made; I made two 'home videos' for Same Old Mistakes and The Night Out that are now archived, but this is the one that felt just right.
Valentine – New SINGLE
It is just such a hard song for me to properly say something about it, because of two reasons; a) i think it tells the story it needs to tell pretty well, so I feel like talking more about what the song is would quickly become an "overshare" that I don't think I wanna engage in right now.It is a song about how the ways I relate to love and the complications of it, as I don't think I am the healthiest person in relationships. I think it is beautifully made, I love the production of it – it is very dreamy and dreadful. I think I captured the feeling of existential dread that I was feeling pretty accurately here.
